2017 Events & Workshops

Timeless Treasures introduced a New Program this summer and we are thrilled to be among one of the first shops in the country selected to present this program in our shop!

Toni Steere, a National Educator for Timeless Treasures, began traveling the country this summer, sharing her quilting expertise, with Timeless Treasures in the spotlight. As a pattern designer, sales representative and former shop owner, Toni has 30 years of quilting and teaching experience. She is known for her pattern design company, Wing and a Prayer Design – the name behind Timeless Treasures’ popular Block of the Month programs and fabric collections.

Toni will present a trunk show style educational lecture and will teach two all day workshops. The lecture, “Toni’s Timeless Travels” will be on Monday, October 9th. She will teach the workshops, “Tips, Tricks and Techniques” on Tuesday, October 10 and “Fringed & Fabulous” on Wednesday, October 11.

AND…we are offering Toni’s latest Block of the Month, Mystical Prism, beginning in September.

Mystical Prism Block of the Month

This stunning block of the month, designed by Toni Steere and Jenny Foltz of Wing and a Prayer Design, features the 2017 Tonga Mystical Treat collection by Timeless Treasures. This batik collection consists of twenty fabrics in a palette of deep blue to turquoise with purple accents. Resembling a kaleidoscope, the Mystical Prism quilt uses traditional piecing with unusual fabric color combinations. Points are easily made with Creative Grids rulers or the paper template included with the pattern.

Two options for purchasing for the Mystical Prism block-of-the-month…and you get to choose. Work at your own pace and purchase it all at once OR receive the block of the month over 12 months.

  1. Purchase this BOM project all at once – $240.00 (savings of 20% off monthly option)
  2. Beginning September 2017 and running for 12 months – $24.95 per month.

Registration Fee – $24.95 (to be applied to the total cost when purchasing the BOM all at once OR to be the final payment when purchasing it monthly)

Finished size: 102” x 102”. Kit includes pattern and all fabrics for the top, border and binding. Backing fabric will need to be purchased separately.

Beginning: October 2017

Row by Row Experience 2017 – “On the Go”

Thank you to those who participated in the 2017 Row by Row Experience! We have had a great time meeting quilters from all over the United States and Canada during this event. Quilters from the following 17 states have visited us: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Michigan, Maryland, Connecticut, Maine, Florida, Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Illinois, Oregon, Virginia, Alabama and Texas. We also had a quilter visit us from New Brunswick, Canada.

Our row pattern “Sew Flippin FUN” is now in hibernation until October 31st. It will be available for purchase on November 1st. Take one more peek at our Row Quilt as well as our two bonus projects.

Row by Row Contest still continues…not all shops have awarded their prizes!

  • Create a quilt using at least 8 different rows
  • Be the first to bring your quilt to a participating shop – WIN 25 fat quarters
  • Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize
  • Must turn your quilt in by October 31st

Each area has its own Facebook page. “Like” the page from the areas you visit to see pictures of the rows, shop displays, winning quilts and fabric plate projects. Click here to find your Row by Row area!

Technique Classes:

  • The Art of Sewing by Hand – Slow down, we move too fast! Take a break from sewing everything quickly by machine and create a beautiful work of art, all sewn by hand. Crazy Quilting, Hand-Appliqué, English Paper-Piecing, Sashiko, Redwork, etc are all works of art sewn by hand. This is an opportunity to get together with others who like to “slow down” and enjoy the process of sewing by hand! Class is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
  • Psst…the teacher is not here! – When our classroom is not in use, it will be available for independent sewing. Come by yourself or get together with some of your friends and sew (quilt) in our classroom for a few hours or even for the entire day!  This is a great opportunity to work on your UFQs (Un Finished Quilts) or PhDs (Projects Half Done), start a new project, lay out a quilt or two, or just hang with the gang. Space is limited so registering is a must.
    • Fee – two options available
      • Open to all who register – fee is $10.00 per person
      • Rent the room for the day – fee is $80.00 (this would be your closed session)
      • Check the Red Barn Calendar for dates when the classroom is not in use. Then contact Linda (978-346-9292 or redbarn@redbarnonline.com) to schedule your time to use the classroom.

The time spent behind your sewing machine is some of the most treasured…

… so you deserve a machine that lets you get the most out of it. The Horizon Memory Craft 9400 was created with special, easy and time-saving features. Escape into a world of pure creativity with the Horizon Memory Craft 9400! Stop by to see it, touch it and stitch with it!
