Embroidery and Crystal Trunk Show
Learn new embroidery and appliqué techniques, how to color your world with crystals, and see dozens of creative, fun projects at the Red Barn Sewing & Yarn Center. The Embroidery and Crystal Trunk Show will be held 10:00 am – noon and 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Friday, July 13th. Whether you have a home sewing or embroidery machine, or just want to embellish quilts, wearables or accessories with beautiful, sparkling crystals, you will enjoy the lecture demonstration and camaraderie that this event promises to offer.
Co-sponsored by Dalco Home Sew, a supplier of all-inclusive embroidery appliqué kits and DalCrystals, this event will include several great demonstrations.
The first demonstration will show a looping technique that can be used to apply fringe to appliquéd flowers, dresses and other items.
The second demonstration will focus on a 3D technique that takes a flat appliqué design and gives it life. The demo will involve adding wings to a dragonfly design. Once you learn it, this method has unlimited applications.
Learn how to make beautiful one-of-a-kind Christmas ornaments. These ornaments can be used for much more than just hanging decorations for Christmas trees. They also make great coasters and package decorations.
Another demonstration will feature Stitch ‘N’ Frame, which allows you to make unique photo frames that can be used alone or as part of a photo album scrapbook or quilt.
Crystals are one of the hottest trends in home sewing, embroidery and quilting. They come in a wide range of colors and are so easy to apply; embellishers are coming up with all kinds of fun and creative applications. Hot melt crystals will go on any type of fabric, making your decorating possibilities endless. A make-it and take-it project will allow you to see just how easy it is to apply crystals.
In addition to the lecture/demonstration, there will be a comprehensive display of quilts, gift items, wall hangings, pillows, and a vast array of other finished items to spark ideas for projects of your own.
Seating for this lecture is limited, so reserve early. Fee is $10.00, payable upon registering. Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
