HoopSisters™ Lecture/Demonstration

The embroidery machine does all the work by combining piecing, quilting, beautiful decorative stitches and gorgeous all-over embroidery all in the hoop!

Tea Leaf Tree Skirt

Simple piecing and the Tea Leaf Block are combined to create a traditional look under your tree. The simplified "Tea Leaf" technique uses a water soluble fabric glue pen to give you a cathedral window look without the tedious handwork.




Judy Niemeyer Foundation Piecing Technique - Introductory Class


In this one-day workshop learn about foundation paper piecing and what Judy has done to expand upon an already simple, elegant quilting technique that allows quilters of any level to create gorgeous, breath-taking quilts. Learn how to implement fast and easy cutting techniques, stacking techniques, paper-piecing techniques, speed piecing techniques, and curved piecing. Students are required to complete precutting prior to class. Students typically need 3 - 4 weeks in advance to prepare for class so keep this in mind when signing up. By the end of class, students have enough practice to continue on their own to complete their quilt.




Photo Transfer onto Fabric


Learn how to personalize quilts and sewing projects with your favorite photos. Explore the various methods to transfer an image on to fabric. Topics will include scanning, resolution, digital image enhancement, printer inks and transfer products.
Bring two 4”x6” photos or one larger photo and leave with an 8.5”x11” transfer.




HoopSisters™ - Dresden Plate


Make a traditional Dresden Plate quilt the Embroidablock™ way. Learn to machine piece, embellish with decorative stitches, and machine quilt all in the hoop! After all the blocks are completed, sashing is applied between the blocks with a unique quilt as you go method. This is a fast way to making the quits your great grandmother made by hand.

The embroidery machine does all the work by combining piecing, quilting, beautiful decorative stitches and gorgeous all-over embroidery all in the hoop! The designs from HoopSisters can take “bland” fabric and make it spectacular. Using matching or contrasting threads the embroidery designs add interesting pattern and texture to the fabric.




Machine Quilting


Quilting by machine is a great timesaver but it does take patience and practice to perfect this skill. In this class learn the following techniques needed to successfully machine quilt: grid-quilting, free-motion stippling, continuous-line stitching, traditional outlining and quilting in the ditch. Also, an explanation of battings, needles, threads and marking tools will be discussed. Good beginner or refresher class. Working knowledge of your machine is a MUST prior to taking this class.

Hand Appliqué


If you love to piece quilts but shy away from appliqué, now is the time to broaden your quilting horizons! Become a master of traditional hand appliqué. Learn the basic needle-turn stitch and the secrets for stitching the “tricky places”, such as inside angles, curves, circles and points. Also, learn how to do beautiful bias stems.




Tea Leaf Christmas Stockings


The Tea Leaf Block makes a beautiful cuff on a Christmas stocking. The stocking is pieced and quilted, and is large enough to fill with plenty of goodies. The simplified "Tea Leaf" technique uses a water soluble fabric glue pen to give you a cathedral window look without the tedious handwork.
