About Us

The Red Barn Sewing & Yarn Center was established in 1978 by Helen Gosselin to provide quality fabrics, notions and patterns for the home sewer. In 1982, Linda Ouellette joined her sister, Helen, to help run the business she created. Over the years they grew the small sewing center into a full-service quilt shop.

Helen has been teaching classes since she first opened her shop 32 years ago. Her experience in quilting has been developed through classes with world-renowned sewing teachers, quilters and self-instruction. The skills she acquired fill her classes with useful, easy to understand information. Her avid love of quilting and teaching creates a fun quilt making experience. She is a member of the New England Quilt Museum, The Appliqué Society, and The Merrimack Valley Quilt Guild.
